Verbs



I guess this isn't totally physics related, but it seemed like the best place to put it, so here it is. A listing of commonly used (however rather obscure) verbs used by Brown physics grad students.

Attisha (uh-TISH-uh) - v.
1. to be as fast as two monkeys.

Christy (KRIS-tee) - v.
1. to exhale smoke directly at one's face.

Hirsch (HERSH) - v.
1. to spend money on useless items for no logical reason.
2. to be anti-social.

Jack (JAK) - v.
1. to park (esp. parallel park) a motor vehicle poorly, slowly, or in an otherwise inexperienced manner.

Jeff (JEF) - v.
1. to urinate; esp. frequently.

Jenny (JEN-ee) - v.
1. to be extremely excited and enthusiastic (perhaps overly) about everything, including the seemingly mundane.
2. to claim ownership of property that is not your own by continually refering to it as your own in front of others, including, but not limited to, the rightful owner.

Josh (JOSH) - v.
1. to fail one or more classes in school.
2. to drop out of school.

Laura (LOR-uh) - v.
1. being overly demanding, esp. of things generally conferred after an appropriate time period.

Pete (PEET) - v.
1. to point out one's house as one travels past it, often the route taken is such that one will pass by one's house.
2. to mention or refer to family one has in a distant place recently mentioned in conversation.

Rob (ROB) - v.
1. to consume a carbonated beverage (esp. beer) in such a manner as to make it foam up and spill everywhere.
2. to remove all or most of the carbonation in a beverage (esp. beer) in a messy and/or impolite manner.

Stew (STOO) - v.
1. to get cockblocked (esp. at the GCB).

Truch (TROOSH) - v.
1. to vociferate or bellow words or phrases that should be said at a normal speaking volume.
2. to swear loudly esp. in a public place or near small children.
