Hamburger Soup
Simmer at least 2 hours
| ¾ kg | ground beef |
| 1 | medium onion, chopped fine |
| large can | tomatoes |
| 500 ml | water |
| 3 cans | consommé |
| 1 can | tomato soup |
| 4 | carrots, chopped fine |
| 1 | bay leaf |
| 2 sticks | celery, chopped fine |
| some | parsley |
| 2.5 ml | thyme |
| dash | pepper (to taste) |
| 120 ml | pearl barley (NOT MORE!) |
Brown meat and onions. Drain well. Combine all ingredients in a large pot. Simmer covered, at least 2 hours (all day is fine). Serves 10 (or my family plus "Danny").
I don't know where this recipe is from, but I remember it first in Alaska. Ohh well. I will update this somtime.
